FAQ

Loafin' Around comes under Alabama Cottage Law guidelines and, as such, our goods may not be shipped outside of Alabama. That said, if you know you're going to be in the Montgomery, Alabama area and would like to pre-order something to pick up, please feel free to order. As with all items, there is a "lead time".

DO YOU DELIVER? For special events yes. And for those with disabilities. Otherwise you must pick up your items or arrange for meeting. 

LEAD TIMES will vary according to order placed. A basic loaf requires 2 day lead time. So plan accordingly. For all other items, you will need to submit the contact form HERE

WHAT KIND OF CONTENTS DO YOU USE? Every effort is made to use the best ingredients available. Therefore, items are sold by season as opposed to "whenever". Though some items can be made any time of the year. Also used are European Butters, Pasture Raised Eggs and Milled flours. You should be aware that, while not made together, there are items made that contain allergens and while every attempt is made to make sure the kitchen is allergen free, there is no 100% guarantee.

WHAT ARE YOUR SUGAR SUBSITUTES? Within affordable limits: Splenda for baking (a stevia-sugar blend) is used for "diabetic friendly" goods. Monk Fruit is used for Sugar-Free goods. 

WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR GLUTEN FREE FLOURS? Our home mill is employed only for gluten free products. Oats is the primary grain we mill. Buckwheat, when available may be used upon request only. Sorry, we do not mill nut flours. No, we do not resell milled flours. We also purchase gluten-free blends from Bobs Red Mill.

DO YOU USE SALT ALTERNATIVES? No. We can omit salt for those sodium-free. Rumford reduced sodium baking powder can be used upon request. Otherwise we use Clabbergirl.

DO YOU USE PRESERVATIVES? Citric acid, vinegars, and salt are the only "preservatives" used and not used in everything. Therefore its important to store your baked goods appropriately. If in doubt- ask!

DO YOU BAKE ANYTHING WITH CHEESE OR MEAT IN IT? No, sorry. The law does not allow for baking items which would ultimately require refrigeration.

ARE YOU INSPECTED BY THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT? As a cottage bakery, no we are not inspected by the health department. Following the guidelines is important to Loafin' Around. We sterlize and maintain cleanliness standards as required. 

HOW DO I PAY FOR MY ORDER? Small orders (under $50) should be paid for in cash upon reciept of the good. All others require a 50% deposit with the remainder in cash upon reciept. Shipped orders require full payment including cost of shipping. When you order, you will be given a paypal link for payment.
