This fall is going to be exciting! Of course, we can't just do basics. Below is the "menu" for fall through Dec. 1, 2025.
Ginger Pear Bread. A little spice of fresh grated ginger accentuates the gentle taste of fresh pear. Your choice of ginger glaze or basic crumble. $12.00 per loaf.
Spiced Pear and Apple Pie. Lets combine the best of fall in one pie, shall we? Made with the classic Crisco crust your Mom used to make, this pie is best served warm with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream and a drizzle of caramel sauce. Pies are 9". $14.00 per pie.
Pear Crisp. Like an apple crisp, only made with pears! A buttery streussel topping accents the flavor of pear for the fall. Each Streussel is in a 9x13" pan and typically feeds 9 people, depending on how much pear they can handle! $15.00 per streussel.
Pear Bread. Quick breads are a favorite at Loafin' Around and this one is fall in a loaf! Featuring Pear, of course. Fresh pears, grated, work their way through the loaf for extra moistness. I use Bosc pears because they hold up the best. Choice of vanilla glazed top or pecan streussel topping on request. $12.00 per loaf.
French Apple Cake. This is a single-layer cake enjoyed at ladies' teas in the old days. But you could just as easily serve it at the church ladies' prayer group or a family gathering. Each cake is a buttery-sweet 9" cake. Powdered sugar topping included if its not going to be used immediately. $14.00 per cake.
Caramel Apple Crisp. Remember when Mom served up a bowl full of apple crisp with some ice cream and caramel sauce? Well, the recipe for Caramel Apple Crisp never left! Sold in a square, 8x8" pan, you'll have just the right amount for a scoop of ice cream after warming it or warm the caramel (included) before drizzling. $14.00 per Crisp (includes the sauce and warming directions).
Sweet Potato Pound Cake. Freshly mashed sweet potatoes (we're always "a-peelin!") go into making a holiday pound cake. Baked in an intricate bundt loaf pan, not only is there a marshmallow glaze on top, there are candied pecans in the center, reminiscent of the sweet potato casserole we loved growing up! $18.00 each, need 4 days lead time to allow for making marshmallow creme and candied nuts.
Sweet Potato Pie. Made with home-baked sweet potatoes (never canned yams) and using a traditional butter crust, pies are 8" each. $14.00 per pie. Need 3 day lead time.
Apple Cider Mini-Muffins. Perfect for a ladies tea or a children's event, these mini muffins offer a little bit of fall in a bite! Made with whole wheat, fresh apple cider, and a pinch of cardamom, these are a nip of fall weather. They also have a little sugary maple crust on the top! $14.00 for 2 dozen.
Cranberry-Walnut Bars. Whole wheat and coconut sugar make for a healthier crust while real maple syrup, dried cranberries and toasted walnuts offer a fall flavor favorite! Comes in an 8" pan. You decide how big each bar will be! $16.00 per pan.
And as Always: Dad Clarkes' Famous Banana Bread! The moistest banana breads in town. Small (two-three person mini) breads are $6.00 each (minimum order of 4) and the larger ones are $12.00 each (minimum order of 2). Lead time depends on how ripe the bananas are! lol
